When I Could No Longer Find the Tenniswear I Wanted to Wear
For many years, tennis was an important part of my life. Like countless women who love the game, I closely followed the world's greatest champions—not only for their performance, but also for their style.
Whenever players such as Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanović, or Serena Williams introduced a new outfit, I couldn't wait to discover it, and I often bought it.
I loved tennis.
But I also loved fashion.
I believed that even on the court, a woman should be able to express her personality through what she wears.
As the years went by, however, I realised I could no longer find the tenniswear I truly wanted—not because it didn't exist, but because I had begun searching for something more personal.
Something more original.
More elegant.
More colourful.
Something that reflected my own way of experiencing tennis.
I wanted tenniswear with a true sense of Tennis Chic.
Tennis Chic Has Always Been Part of My Story
Perhaps that desire was also shaped by my professional journey.
For twelve years, I owned Le Chic Boutique, my fashion boutique in Taormina.
Elegance, attention to detail, and a passion for style were part of my everyday life.
Naturally, I wanted to express that same personality and femininity whenever I stepped onto the tennis court.
That vision eventually evolved into what I now call Tennis Chic—a philosophy that combines elegance, originality, exceptional quality, comfort, and individuality.

The First Tennis Dress I Created with My Grandmother
In 2014, I decided to do something I had never done before: create my own tennis dress.
At the time, I wasn't thinking about launching a brand.
I wasn't planning a collection.
I simply wanted to wear something I couldn't find anywhere else.
So I turned to my grandmother Ida, an exceptionally talented seamstress with years of experience.
Together, we created two versions of my very first tennis dress.
One memory from that experience has stayed with me ever since.
Instead of using professional pattern paper, my grandmother used an ordinary grocery bag.
To her, it was the most natural thing in the world.
She belonged to a generation that believed nothing should be wasted—everything could be reused, repurposed, and given a second life.
Only years later did I realise that this simple gesture perfectly embodied one of the core values of my brand:
Sustainability.
Today, sustainability remains one of the fundamental pillars of Laila Coslovich, influencing every stage of the creative process—from fabric selection to choosing the right manufacturing partners.
During the Pandemic, I Realised This Dream Deserved to Become Something Bigger
For several years, that first dress remained nothing more than a personal achievement.
Then the pandemic changed everything.
Like so many people, I suddenly had time to reflect on my future, my ambitions, and the dreams I had quietly set aside.
My thoughts kept returning to that first dress my grandmother and I had created together.
I realised it was much more than a custom-made garment.
It was an idea.
An idea that deserved to become something real.
I began researching the industry, studying the market, learning how to build a brand, develop a collection, and transform a personal vision into an entrepreneurial project.
In the autumn of 2020, I officially introduced the project.
At the beginning of 2021, the Laila Coslovich trademark was registered across the European Union.
My First Collection Sold Out Completely
In the spring of 2021, I launched my very first collection of Made in Italy tailored tennis dresses, presenting it inside my boutique, Le Chic Boutique in Taormina.
Something happened that I had never expected.
Every single dress sold out.
But what surprised me even more was who bought them.
Many of my customers didn't even play tennis.
One of them was an American woman who simply fell in love with the collection.
That was the moment I understood something important.
I wasn't simply creating sportswear.
I was creating garments that expressed a lifestyle.
A way of feeling.
An aesthetic that extended far beyond the tennis court.
That was the moment I truly began believing that bringing Laila Coslovich to women around the world could become a reality.
A Journey Built on Patience and Determination
Like every authentic entrepreneurial journey, mine has not always followed a straight path.
In the years that followed, I experienced significant personal changes that inevitably slowed the development of the brand.
But they never weakened my determination.
I continued learning.
Designing.
Refining.
Improving every aspect of the project.
From 2025 onwards, I began building Laila Coslovich's digital presence with a more structured vision.
I personally designed the website.
I wrote the content.
I started telling my story on social media in my own voice—a style of communication that is now inspiring emerging brands within the industry.
Every step has been driven by passion, perseverance, and a clear vision of what I want Laila Coslovich to become.
The 2026 Collection: Sustainability, Quality, and Made in Italy Craftsmanship
In 2026, I took another important step forward.
The brand's first professionally produced, limited-edition numbered collection was entrusted to a specialised manufacturing company in Northern Italy.
For this collection, I chose exclusively eco-sustainable technical fabrics produced by one of Italy's leading textile manufacturers, combining exceptional performance with the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
Global Recycled Standard (GRS) Certified Fabrics
The fabrics used in the collection are certified according to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), guaranteeing the use of recycled materials and environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing processes.
For me, this certification represents a genuine commitment to creating fashion that respects both people and the planet.
OEKO-TEX® Certified Fabrics
Every fabric is also certified according to the OEKO-TEX® Standard, ensuring it has been tested for harmful substances and is safe even for the most sensitive skin.
This means greater comfort, protection, and peace of mind every time you wear one of our garments.
For me, sustainability is not a passing trend.

From design and fabric selection to pattern development and manufacturing, every step reflects my commitment to preserving the excellence of Made in Italy.
This is something I am incredibly proud of.
