Laila Coslovich: the Italian tennis apparel brand born from the desire to feel elegant on the court
Looking for an Italian tennis apparel brand that combines elegance, sustainability, and Made in Italy?
When thinking about tennis apparel, performance, technology, and comfort often come to mind. These are all fundamental aspects, of course. Yet, for many women, there's another need: to feel elegant, feminine, and authentic while playing the sport they love.
It is precisely from this desire that Laila Coslovich was born, an Italian women's tennis apparel brand that combines style, sartorial quality, sustainability, and entirely Made in Italy production.
This is not just the story of a collection or a business project. It is the story of a dream born on the tennis court and, over time, transformed into a larger vision.
When I could no longer find the tennis clothes I wanted to wear
For many years I played tennis consistently. Like many enthusiasts of this sport, I followed the great champions of the international circuit with interest and also loved observing their style.
When a new outfit worn by players like Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic, or Serena Williams was launched, I was always curious to discover it and often ended up buying it.
I loved tennis, but I also loved fashion.
I liked the idea that a woman could express her personality through what she wears, even during a match.
Over the years, however, I couldn't find the tennis apparel I was looking for on the market, simply because I felt the desire to create my own personal style.
I wanted something more original.
More elegant.
More colorful.
Closer to my way of experiencing this sport.
I wanted more chic tenniswear.
Chic tennis is part of my story
Probably this need also arose from my professional experience.
For twelve years, I managed my clothing boutique called Le Chic Boutique in Taormina.
Elegance, attention to detail, and focus on style have always been part of my daily life.
For this reason, I wanted to express my style and personality, enhancing my femininity even when I stepped onto the court.
From this vision, what I now call Tennis Chic Style was born: a refined way of experiencing tennis that combines elegance, originality, quality, comfort, and personality.

The first tennis dress created with my grandmother
In 2014, I decided to do something I had never done before: create my own tennis dress.
I wasn't thinking of a brand yet.
I didn't envision a collection.
I simply wanted to wear something I couldn't find in stores.
So I asked for help from my grandmother Ida, who had great experience in sewing and was a very skilled seamstress.
Together, we made two variations of my first tennis dress.
There's a detail from that moment that I still remember with particular affection today.
My grandmother didn't have paper to make the pattern and used a simple grocery bag.
For her, it was completely natural.
She belonged to that generation that was used to wasting nothing, recovering what was available, and giving objects a second life.
Only many years later did I realize that this gesture perfectly represented one of the founding values of my brand: sustainability.
Today, sustainability is indeed one of the main pillars of Laila Coslovich and guides many of the choices I make in designing collections, from the selection of fabrics to the choice of suppliers.
During Covid, I realized that idea deserved to become something bigger
For years, that first dress remained a personal satisfaction.
Then came the pandemic.
Like many people, I found myself with more time to reflect on the future, my projects, and the ideas I had left untouched.
That's when I thought back to that dress created with my grandmother.
I understood that it wasn't simply a custom-made garment.
It was an idea.
An idea that could transform into a concrete project.
So I began to study the sector, research, understand how to build a brand, how to develop a collection, and how to transform a personal vision into a business project.
In the autumn of 2020, I publicly announced the project.
At the beginning of 2021, the Laila Coslovich brand was registered at a European level.
The first collection completely sold out
In the spring of 2021, I created my first collection of tailored tennis dresses and displayed them in my "Le Chic Boutique - Taormina."
Something I didn't expect happened.
The collection completely sold out.
But the biggest surprise was something else.
Almost all the dresses were bought by women who didn't play tennis.
Among them was even an American customer.
This made me understand something important.
I wasn't just creating sportswear.
I was creating garments capable of conveying a lifestyle.
A way of feeling.
An aesthetic that went beyond the tennis court.
It was at that moment that I truly began to believe that the dream of bringing Laila Coslovich to the world could become a reality.
A project built with patience and determination
As happens in many authentic entrepreneurial journeys, the path has not always been linear.
In subsequent years, I faced personal changes that inevitably slowed down the project.
But they never extinguished my determination.
I continued to study, design, and improve every aspect of my brand.
From 2025, I began to develop Laila Coslovich's online presence in a more structured way.
I personally created the website.
I developed the content.
I started to tell the brand's story through social media with my own language, which is now inspiring other new brands as well.
Every step was built with passion, commitment, and a clear vision of what I wanted to achieve.
The 2026 collection: sustainability, quality, and Made in Italy production
In 2026, I decided to take another step forward.
The first true professional limited-edition numbered production was entrusted to a specialized workshop in Northern Italy.
For the collection's creation, I exclusively chose certified eco-sustainable fabrics produced by a leading Italian company in the sector.
GRS - Global Recycled Standard Certification
GRS certified fabrics guarantee the use of recycled materials and environmentally and socially responsible production processes.
This certification represents a concrete guarantee of commitment to more sustainable fashion.
OEKO-TEX® Certification
OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics are tested to ensure they are free from harmful substances.
This means greater safety, comfort, and well-being even for the most sensitive skin.
For me, sustainability is not a passing fad.
It is a responsibility.
It is a choice consistent with the values I wish to convey through the brand.
An Italian tennis apparel brand looking to the future
Today, every phase of the Laila Coslovich brand's production chain is Italian.
From design to material selection.
From pattern making to manufacturing.
This choice represents a great source of pride for me.
I deeply believe in the value of Made in Italy and the excellence of Italian manufacturing.
My goal is to help bring this excellence to the world of international women's tenniswear.
Because Italy has an extraordinary tradition in fashion.
And I believe it can offer a unique contribution to the tennis apparel sector as well.
A story that continues every day
If Laila Coslovich exists today, it is because at some point in my life I decided not to settle and to create myself what I would have wanted to wear during my training sessions.
A tennis dress capable of making a woman feel elegant, feminine, original, and self-confident.
This is the story of my brand.
A story born from an authentic passion.
A story built with patience, determination, and love for tennis.
But above all, a story that has just begun, even if I started writing it many years ago.
